Watch your back ...
Body smart gardening Program Coordinator and Master Gardener from University of Illinois Extension talks ouchless gardening May 3rd at 6:30 p.m., EP Public Library Margaret Burns Westmeyer, a University of Illinois Extension Horticulture Program Coordinator and Coordinator of the South Suburban Master Gardener Program will be here to tell us how to garden without hurting our backs, knees and shoulders. Body smart gardening takes into account the sometimes heavy and strenuous nature of digging, planting, and maintaining our outside spaces. Now that we finally have gardening weather we need to consider our winter-weary bodies and not hurt ourselves in the rush to get outside and work the soil again. We will not cover avoiding blisters! Join us at 6:30 pm on May 3, 2018, in the EP library's downstairs conference room. Thanks to the Evergreen Park Public Library and their director, Nicki Seidl, for their unwavering support!

Plant Sale coming up in June
Calling all members! Start thinking about our fundraising plant market! Bring your extra pots and containers to the meeting on May 3rd to share with others as we begin preparations for our event on Saturday, June 9th. Our meeting on June 7th will be a set-up for the sale. Look around your garden for any extra divisions while you are doing your spring yard clean-up and planning. Divisions that are potted up now will be growing strong and looking attractive for the sale. Only a month to crunch time! Members, we depend on all of you to stock the sale shelves. Our fundraiser also helps the library and is appreciated by the community. Let's get started! |
